In 1919, when the automobile market was beginning to develop, Jules LECLERCQ launched his activities in repair of dynamos and magnetos used to equip automobiles of that age, the ancestors of today’s vehicles.

Anticipating the market’s expectations, Ets Leclercq developed standard exchanges beginning in the 1930s. The company energised a structure that is constantly performing at higher levels so as to satisfy the challenges of the age, cut time, increase savings and productivity, all for the benefit of our demanding customers.

ELG, all-around actors in automobile electrical components

Without giving up its traditional activities in repair and standard exchange, Ets Leclercq adapted to its environment and starting in 1941 Joseph Leclercq marketed the main brands of the period. Thus, the company offered a complete and specialised à la carte service to its professional clients.

Beginning in 1978, Ets Leclercq imported and exported alternators and starters of all brands. Just as electrical components are not restricted to automobiles and their spare parts, at this time Charles and René Leclercq developed their already existing armature workshop in order for the technicians to assure the repair of all electrical motors, both for industry and for cars.

ELG : continual expansion and opening up to Europe

By moving to a modern and custom-built facility (3,000 m2) in 1997, Ets Leclercq s.a. ensured its further growth.

In the industrial sector, the offer has been continually expanded. The workshop is specialised in large-unit armatures and in reworking of servo-motors and reduced gear motors. It added distribution of the WEG range of industrial motors, speed variators and soft starters. Ever since 2006, Ets Leclercq s.a. has provided on site maintenance service.

M. Patrice Longaretti, a former technical-commercial employee of Ets LECLERCQ s.a., has founded the company LECLERCQ ENERGY s.p.r.l. and as such shapes its independency in the industrial market (electrical motors Weg and windings)
